The hills are full of magic, and Vill 'O Tale is on a mission to make that beauty accessible to everyone. Forget touristy checklists, they provide travel shaped by memories, warmth, and authentic connections with India’s villages.

Vill 'O Tale is part of the Culture Catalyst Accelerator Program by PCP and AIC-ISB, with support from NICEorg
Founder & Brand Story
The idea for Vill 'O Tale was born out of personal travel challenges that the founders experienced. Soumen, an avid explorer of offbeat destinations, kept running into problems related to safety and hygiene, lack of reliable local information, and how to plan activities for a family stay.
Shuddha, traveling with his wife and daughter, faced the same issues and was wondering what children could do in remote places.
One conversation between them turned these frustrations into an opportunity. They envisioned a platform that would make rural and offbeat travel safe, immersive, and stress-free.
From that spark grew Vill 'O Tale: a venture that transforms forgotten village homes into trusted homestays and guided experiences where culture is celebrated, not commodified.
What They Offer
Vill 'O Tale organizes end-to-end guided tours that go far beyond accommodation. Travelers can stay in treehouses and farmstays, enjoy home-cooked meals, join folk dances, or walk heritage trails. Each itinerary is immersive and inclusive, designed to let travelers “know, see, and feel” the local culture, cuisine, craft, and lifestyle of a place.
The founders describe it in one line: “Vill 'O Tale hai to sahi hai”
Impact & Community
For guests, the experiences can be deeply moving. Nisha (name changed), who had recently lost her husband, joined a Vill 'O Tale trip to Kumaon with her teenage son. Alongside another traveler and her mother, she found not just sightseeing but healing & bonding over stories, caring for one another, and forming lasting friendships with local families. What began as a getaway became a journey of comfort and connection.
For villages, Vill 'O Tale has sparked livelihood opportunities and even reverse migration.
In Karchi, Uttarakhand, local advocate Govind Singh had left for the city in search of work. After collaborating with Vill 'O Tale, he returned to his village, built a new homestay, and inspired others to join. Today, multiple families in Karchi and nearby Karchho run homestays, generating income and strengthening their case for better infrastructure.
So far, Vill 'O Tale has welcomed over 2,000 travelers, generating 1,300+ room nights and 460+ bookings - each stay directly supporting rural livelihoods and cultural preservation
The Bigger Dream
Looking ahead, Vill 'O Tale envisions developing community-based tourism clusters across India and beyond. Their long-term dream: to make rural India one of the most trusted and sustainable travel destinations globally, while becoming a reliable partner for local communities seeking livelihood opportunities
As the founders say: “Chalo Gaon ki oar aur dekho apna desh”
