Bengaluru, Chandigarh, 01 December 2024

The Network of Indian Cultural Enterprises (NICE) and Punjab Cultural project (PCP) have partnered to set up the NICE-PCP Punjab State Chapter. This will be the seventh addition to the roster of current NICE chapters in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai and Bengal.

The purpose of the Punjab State Chapter is to enable the cultural entrepreneurship ecosystem in Punjab, with events, programs and resources to support cultural enterprises, as well as joint policy-level advocacy initiatives for government, academic and other institutional stakeholders.

Starting January 2025, the NICE-PCP Punjab State Chapter will offer programs and resources for cultural enterprises and entrepreneurs in the five focus sectors of Health, wellness, and beauty, Food and beverages, Home décor & furnishings, Fashion & Accessories, and Experiential Travel in Punjab.

The chapter launch event will be held in Chandigarh in January, where NICE and PCP will share the vision for the chapter with founding member organizations and institutional stakeholders.

Membership to the chapter is now open. Any business whose product or service is rooted in culture, heritage, art, craft, tourism, or ecology can apply. Businesses at all stages of scale, from early-stage startups to scale-ready and established enterprises are invited to become members.

Cultural enterprises based in Punjab can apply for membership to the NICE-PCP Punjab State Chapter here.

Commenting on the launch, Kanchana K.V, CEO of NICE said, “We are very confident that the partnership with Punjab Cultural Project will complement the individual offerings of both entities to accelerate and expand the range of ecosystem services to Cultural Entrepreneurs in Punjab. Partnerships like these are very critical in accelerating the work of building a Cultural Entrepreneurship Ecosystem in the country. We look forward to co-curating and growing this partnership towards this endeavor and embark on several other similar collaborations in achieving NICEorg’s mission.”

“Our mission at Punjab Cultural Project is to build a modern cultural economy in Punjab, where a responsible cultural sector, led by innovative and profitable cultural enterprises, adds concrete economic value to the mainstream economy,” said Chitra Iyer, co-founder of Punjab Cultural Project. “The partnership with NICE will help us to enable early-stage and scale-ready cultural enterprises in Punjab to build and run responsible and profitable cultural businesses.”

“Bringing the proven programs of NICEorg, such as Aarohana and Mantrana, to Punjab will help cultural entrepreneurs here to upskill and get better access to mentors, markets, and investors.
