How long have you been exploring art?
I've been exploring art since I was a toddler, nurtured by my mom, an interior and architectural designer specializing in heritage and classical architecture. Growing up in a creative environment, I've been fortunate to have her guidance, answering my questions and fueling my curiosity. Witnessing the process and hard work behind art has been invaluable.
What inspires you most about Punjab's culture?
Punjab embodies warmth and love for me, transcending boundaries of caste, culture, creed, and religion. It's the spirit of 'Jee ayaan nu' – a welcoming embrace for all. Our rich heritage, reflected in our delectable cuisine, vibrant culture, captivating art, dynamic dance forms, traditional instruments like the tumbi, bugchu, and rabaab, and the enchanting melodies of our lok geet, tappe, and boliyaan, is a treasure trove waiting to be explored and celebrated.
I firmly believe it's essential to embrace and preserve our cultural legacy, especially in today's world.
Your personal art philosophy:
Art transcends linguistic and cultural boundaries, serving as a universal language that conveys the artist's profound understanding of their environment and the nuances they've absorbed from it – both tangible and intangible. Simultaneously, art embodies the artist's innermost essence, reflecting the depths of their soul.
