Engaging Global Punjabi Diaspora with Our Local Cultural Economy

PCP Diaspora Dialogues series is intended as a useful resource for cultural entrepreneurs in Punjab seeking to better understand global market and investor opportunities by learning from members of our diaspora who are connected to cultural entrepreneurship in some way. The primary audience would consist of aspiring, early-stage, and scale-ready cultural entrepreneurs from Punjab.

The questions would be around themes such as:

1. Investment: How can a cultural enterprise in Punjab engage with diaspora impact investors or even commercial investors? What are the operational expectations from them and what motivates them to invest in cultural enterprises? 

2. Networking: How can a cultural entrepreneur in Punjab better engage with the larger global Punjabi diaspora and create a mutually valuable exchange? 

3. Collaboration and partnership: What are the opportunities and pathways to connect with cultural entrepreneurs in the global Punjabi diaspora and work with them on collaborations and partnerships?

4. Setting up: Experiences of Punjabi diaspora setting up cultural enterprises in their countries, and inputs on how one could set up a cultural enterprise in a different country.

5. Authenticity: How do you balance the need for product and design innovation and product-market fit with cultural products being sold globally, without compromising on authentic cultural identity?

Event format

A one-hour virtual Zoom session with 4 panelists and one moderator from PCP having a Q&A style conversation.

The panel discussions will be recorded and shared on our YouTube channel starting January 2025.
